Marie Noel, of Rineyville, will receive the 2017 Kentucky Women in Agriculture scholarship. She attended the University of Kentucky and will attend Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine this fall as a first-year vet student.
Marie completed a dual degree in Animal Sciences and Equine Science and Management at UK where she achieved the Dean's List multiple times and ended with a 3.765 GPA. Her independent research project was published last year in the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science. Marie also a member of the University of Kentucky Pre-Vet Club, serving in a leadership role for three years, including president. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, running, and playing with dogs!
KWIA President Helena Pitcock said Maria referenced strong women involved in her education and agriculture fields that set an example for her in her scholarship essay.
"We received several applications for the scholarship, and all were very deserving," Helena said. "Marie ranked at the top, and thus she is the 2017 KWIA Scholarship Recipient."
Congratulations, Marie. We wish you the best!
